"In all of Africa, there are two countries that embody the wild freedom and beauty that is Africa. Kenya, within it's borders you will find the relentless culture and pulse of the continent. Tanzania is filled to it's edges with "Classic Africa". Untamed, uncultivated, feral and absolutely wonderful. This is Africa, as only the words of Hemingway can bring justice."

This morning you will be met by a Born Free representative and you will head out on safari. By lunch you will arrive at the Aberdare Country Club. After lunch you will journey on to the Ark by bus. Enjoy the comforts of this unique lodge as the animals are drawn by the presence of salt lick and a flood lit water hole. After dinner you may watch them at close proximity as they are dramatically illuminated against the dark night. You can have a buzzer alert you during the night of the animals that visit whilst you sleep.
The Ark (BLD)

Day 4 - Samburu Game Reserve
After breakfast you will be transferred back to the Aberdare Country Club to regroup and then proceed to Samburu. Enjoy afternoon game viewing in this Reserve which is noted for several species of animals not found in the southern parks. Samburu Serena Lodge (BLD)

Day 5 - Samburu
A full day awaits you of game viewing. You have the opportunity to see a wide range of animals here. Leopards frequent the river areas and there are hippos and crocodile to see as well.
Samburu Serena Lodge (BLD)

Day 6 - Lake Nakuru
After breakfast you will proceed to Lake Nakuru, the ornithologist's dream come true. This magical lake is home to sometimes over a million pink guests - the greater and lesser flamingos - as well as nearly 500 other species of bird. Primarily a bird sanctuary, the 202 sq. km. park is also a black rhino sanctuary. Reed buck, hippo, leopard, waterbuck and giraffe can also be seen here. This park boasts the greatest concentration of leopard in Kenya.

Lion Hill Lodge (BLD)

Day 7 - Masai Mara Game Reserve
After breakfast you will be on your way to the world famous Masai Mara. Arrive at the permanent deluxe tented camp in time for lunch. Each deluxe tent has it's own ensuite bathroom with running hot and cold water. The Masai Reserve is one of the world's greatest wildlife habitats featuring giraffe, ostrich, waterbuck, bushbuck, countless gazelles and antelopes, zebra, wildebeest and over 400 species of bird. This is also home to the famous "Big Five": lion, leopard, buffalo, rhino and elephant. This afternoon you will be taken on a game drive.

Kichwa Tembo Camp (BLD)

Day 8 - Masai Mara Game Reserve
The high altitude and humid conditions created by being located within the Lake Victoria district result in a temperate climate that is ideal for game country. The gently rolling landscape of the Mara is predominantly made up of savannah grasslands intersected with areas of dense acacia woodlands. On your morning and afternoon game drives you may see a wide variety of species.

Kichwa Tembo Camp (BLD)

Day 9 - Masai Mara / Serengeti
You will depart with picnic boxes after breakfast. Then, you will be driven to the Isebania border where you will meet with your Tanzanian driver. After a picnic lunch en route, continue your game drive and arrive in the Serengeti this afternoon. There will be another game drive on your way to the lodge this evening.

Serengeti Serena Lodge (BLD)

Day 10 - Serengeti National Park
After breakfast proceed on a morning game drive, returning to the lodge for lunch. In the afternoon, another game drive awaits you so you can further explore this wonderful park.
The Serengeti contains millions of animals within four habitats: Open plains in the south, savanna and scattered acacia woodlands in the center, hilly, wooded grasslands in the north and extensive woodlands with black clay plains in the west. The landscape also features dramatic rocky outcrops called "kopjes" that are havens for lions and birds of prey.
Serengeti Serena Lodge (BLD)

Day 11 - Serengeti / Ngorongoro
Up early this morning - travel to the Olduvai Gorge, the spot where Dr. & Mrs. Leakey found remains of a Zinthropolus skull. This afternoon you will proceed to a lodge on the rim of the crater for dinner and overnight. The crater rim is at an altitude of 7,500 ft. ensuring cool evenings. From the rim, the vast floor of the crater spreads out 2,000 ft. below providing spectacular views from the lodge.

Ngorongoro Serena Lodge (BLD)

Day 12 - Ngorongoro Crater
After breakfast you will descend into the crater where you will be spending a full day. It is estimated that more than 30,000 animals are to be found within the crater wall at any one time. Because the crater floor is mostly flat grassland, with patches of acacia woodland, game viewing is excellent. Game here includes wildebeest, zebra, hartebeest, Thomson's and Grant's gazelles, lions, hyenas, buffalo, hippo and black rhino. There are no giraffes because the walls are too steep for them to access in and out of the crater.
Return to the lodge for dinner and overnight.
Ngorongoro Serena Lodge (BLD)

Day 13 - Ngorongoro / Lake Manyara
After breakfast, you will journey on to Lake Manyara, where you should arrive by lunch. The lodges are situated on the Mto Wa Mbu escarpment, overlooking the Great Rift Valley and the Soda Lake Manyara. There will be an afternoon game drive in the Lake Manyara Park. Lake Manyara has a variety of habitats with a spectacular diversity of animals and birds. Wildlife includes blue and vervet monkeys, baboons, lion, impala, elephant, zebra, giraffe, wildebeest, hundreds of species of birds and a few rhino. There is also a great hippo pool in the reserve and you may even see the tree-climbing lions.

Lake Manyara Serena (BLD)

Day 14 - Lake Manyara / Arusha / Home
After breakfast, drive back to Arusha where you will have lunch. The rest of the day will be at your leisure. You will be provided with a day room where you can rest before your evening flight out.
