Day 3-4 - Amboseli Game Reserve
After breakfast, depart for Amboseli and the foothills of Mt. Kilimanjaro. Once in the park, proceed on an afternoon game drive enroute to your lodge, arriving in the early evening. Amboseli is a place of stark contrast, the name meaning “salty dust” in Maasai. Amboseli, despite its sometimes dry and dusty appearance, has an endless supply of water filtered through thousands of feet of volcanic rock from Mt. Kilimanjaro’s snow melt. These underground streams converge into clear fresh water springs in the heart of the park. The powder like dust is volcanic ash, which was thrown from Kilimanjaro millennia ago. The main attraction of Amboseli is its vast herds of elephant within the park. The bull elephants here have some of the largest tusks in Kenya. Early morning and late afternoon photographic opportunities are incredible, with plentiful game and Mt. Kilimanjaro (the highest freestanding mountain in the world) providing an impressive and majestic backdrop.

Day 5 - Nairobi / Choice of Giraffe Manor or Ngong House
Today you will fly back to Nairobi to visit your choice of two of the most unique accommodations in the world.

"The Giraffe Manor is an elegant, personally hosted, small and exclusive hotel, famous for its resident herd of giraffe. The Giraffe Manor offers a rich blend of welcoming accommodation, highly trained and friendly staff, as well as one of Nairobi's finest kitchens. The Giraffe Manor is surrounded by 140 acres of indigenous forest just outside Nairobi. As well as the giraffe, the property is also home to many species of birds, large families of warthogs and the elusive Bush Buck."

"Ngong House is a private, serene and luxurious home stay situated in Karen / Langata area of Nairobi. The lodge overlooks the Ngong Hills, only a few minutes away from what used to be Karen Blixen’s coffee farm, secluded in 10 acres of private land. Accommodation is mainly in luxurious Tree-houses designed with extreme comfort in mind. Every unit is different in design some have two levels with bedrooms upstairs and living areas on the lower floor raised 15 ft from the ground to gain an uninterrupted view of the Ngong Hills over unspoiled bush."

Day 6 - Lewa Conservancy
A very special breakfast awaits before you board your flight to the Lewa Conservancy. Lewa Downs is possibly the best known and most successful ranch/home stay in Kenya – It provides a gracious combination of hospitality, unforgettable scenery and good wildlife. Located near Isiolo in the foothills of Mt. Kenya, Lewa Downs is an 18,000-hectare cattle ranch and has been home to the Craig family for three generations. Emma and Will Craig welcome you almost as family. Will was raised on Lewa Downs thus has a great outstanding of this land and its animals.

Day 7-8 - Lewa Conservancy
Guests join the Craig’s for family meals in the outdoor dining terrace reached by a natural stone stairway through rock gardens. The food is memorable-fresh from the ranch and home cooked. Sometimes there is wonderful bread, baked into loaves shaped like elephants and other animals. Conversation at the table is lively and it gives the guest a chance to know the Craig’s and the other guests.

Most activities at Lewa Downs center on experiencing the wildlife and scenery. The ranch horses are well trained and even the novice riders can enjoy the proximity to the wild animals. You can practically touch giraffe! There is still a great deal of wildlife at Lewa.

Guests can go on game drives in customized four-wheel drive vehicles with open roof-hatches. There are field guides, binoculars and always a knowledgeable guide. Night game drives are specialty at Lewa. A guide sits on the roof with a hand-held searchlight to spot the elusive animals of the night.

Lewa Downs is part of the area of Kenya where traces of some of the earliest humans have been found. You are free to search for their carved stones, hand-worked tools, and other artifacts. It is thrilling to hold something made by other humans thousands of years ago. There is time to just sit and relax or take time to sketch or paint. Lewa is a unique experience in African travel.

Day 9-11 - Masai Mara Game Reserve
Up early this morning as you will fly from Lewa to the Masai Mara. Fly over the Great Rift Valley to the Mara Reserve, offering unsurpassed game viewing... In one sweep of binoculars you can see a hundred elephants, lion, impala, zebra, and wildebeest. Don’t miss the dawn game drives. The plains are gold, and the silhouettes of elephant, giraffe, and lion can be seen. Become a part of the life in the Mara - birth, feeding, death and life, an incredible experience that you will never forget. Game viewing activities.

The Masai Mara is regarded as the most favorite and is definitely the most popular game reserve in Kenya, having over 140,000 visitors per year. The reserve lies approx 270km west of Nairobi and covers an area of approximately 1,510 sq km, bordering with the Serengeti National Park in Tanzania. The landscaped is mostly open Savannah grasslands and acacia scrubland. At this time of the year you will see a large number of lion, hippo, crocodile and vultures all of which prey on the weak and young migrating animals. Other game to be found in the Masai Mara at any time of the year include; elephants, cheetahs, baboons, gazelles, giraffes, jackals, cheetahs, leopards, hyenas, water buffalo, ostriches, and a large variety of antelope and birdlife.
