A special photo safari to Kenya takes you to the top game parks
in East Africa. Our slow pace will give photographers ample opportunity to focus on those prize-winning images. Photograph lion, buffalo, cheetah, elephant, and more at close range. Also, by special arrangement we will meet and photograph the Masai elders, children and the beautifully adorned women. You will feel comfortable taking pictures of the African people as both the Masai and our group will be rewarded by the interactions. This will be an exclusive chance to take close up pictures of the local people. |

6-8 - October 07 - 09, 2008 - Samburu National Reserve
Continue your drive over the Equator to the Northern Frontier District. This area plays host to species that are not found in the southern areas: Beisa oryx, blue necked Somali ostrich, and gerenuk. Of special photographer’s interest are the unique markings on the Grevy's zebra and Reticulated giraffe. This may also be your best chance of catching a glimpse of the leopard.
Situated on the fertile banks of the Uaso Nyiro, in the center of the Samburu Game Reserve in Kenya's rugged, semi-arid Northern Province, Samburu Serena Lodge echoes the robust rhythms of riverfront life. The rustic yet convivial lodge blends with the environment by making full use of the native materials. All guestrooms have private verandas that overlook the river where crocodiles feed in full view. Game drives and bird-watching safaris are the ideal way to experience the native wildlife in its natural splendor.

Day
7-10 - October 10 - 13, 2008 - Masai Mara Game Reserve
Up early this morning as you will fly from Samburu to the Masai Mara. The flight will offer excellent chances for aerial photography. Fly over the Lake District, over the Great Rift Valley Wall and down through the valley to the Mara. The Mara offers unsurpassed game viewing... In one sweep of binoculars you can see a hundred elephants, lion, impala, zebra, and wildebeest. This is the time for photographing the big cats – cheetah and lion are common sights. Each day will be an exciting experience in the Mara area. Become a part of the life in the Mara - birth, feeding, death and life, an incredible experience that you will never forget.
The reserve lays approx 270km west of Nairobi and covers an area of approximately 1,510 sq km, bordering with the Serengeti National Park in Tanzania. The landscape is mostly open Savannah grasslands and acacia scrubland. At this time of the year you will see a large number of lion, hippo, crocodile and vultures. All of which prey on the weak and young migrating animals. Other game to be found in the Masai Mara at any time of the year include; elephants, cheetahs, baboons, gazelles, giraffes, jackals, hyenas, water buffalo, ostriches, and a large variety of antelope and birdlife.
Leleshwa Camp is situated on the Siana Ranch Conservation Area, on the edge of the world famous Maasai Mara Game Reserve. Set amongst picturesque hills and rolling plains in prime game-viewing country, the camp is just over 10 km from the park gate, which can be visited on your stay at Leleshwa. You decide how your days will be filled, exploring and viewing game in our 4WD safari vehicles, walking and getting closer to nature, finding unusual nocturnal species on night game drives or learning about the traditional customs of East Africa. On your safari you will enjoy bush breakfasts, sumptuous picnic lunches and romantic sundowners overlooking miles of Africa. Accommodations are in semi-permanent large tents with big comfortable beds, toilet and shower ensuite.
